Os moradores do Subúrbio Ferroviário receberam, nesta quarta-feira (30), o Restaurante Popular completamente requalificado pela Prefeitura. O serviço, que antes era mantido em parceria com a empresa Gerdau, passa a ser gerenciado completamente pela administração municipal. O prefeito ACM Neto, a vice-prefeita Célia Sacramento e a secretária municipal de Promoção Social, Esportes e Combate à Pobreza (Semps), Ana Paula Matos, conferiram de perto as novas instalações, atendimento e até mesmo o cardápio do dia.
De acordo com o prefeito, mesmo com a forte crise econômica que tem afetado o país, a gestão decidiu investir ainda mais na área social. “Foi decidido que não haveria nenhum corte nos serviços de assistência aos cidadãos. Só para se ter uma ideia, Salvador saltou de R$80 milhões em 2012 para R$300 milhões até o fim deste ano em orçamento na área social”, pontuou.
A secretária da Semps afirmou que, ao assumir completamente a administração do Restaurante Popular, a Prefeitura assegura o fornecimento de até 500 refeições diárias com recursos próprios do município. “O compromisso é avançar ainda mais na assistência aos cidadãos mais carentes da cidade”, afirmou Ana Paula.
Localizado na Rua Santa Filomena, o Restaurante Popular Cuidar funciona de segunda a sexta-feira, das 11h30 às 13h30, em instalações adequadas de higiene e com alimentação balanceada a um preço acessível (R$1) para moradores do bairro e comunidades vizinhas. Para crianças de até 10 anos, não é cobrada taxa.
Para a utilização do serviço é necessário fazer o cadastro e participar de entrevista com assistentes sociais e nutricionistas, a fim de verificar as condições sociais e nutricionais e, assim, dar encaminhamento ao processo.
