A cerimônia de posse do novo colegiado do Conselho Municipal de Defesa da Criança e do Adolescente (CMDCA) para o biênio 2016-2018 será realizada no dia 15 de julho (sexta-feira), às 9h, no auditório do Centro de Cultura da Câmara Municipal de Salvador.
Dois dias antes, na quarta-feira (13), às 8h30, acontecerá a 12ª Caminhada do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA), com o tema “Direito à Vida”. A atividade terá saída no Largo do Campo Grande e chegada na Praça Municipal.
Os dois eventos serão realizados na semana de aniversário do ECA, promulgada em julho de 1990 e que completa 26 anos.
Marco histórico
Crianças e adolescentes brasileiros são protegidos por uma série de regras e leis estabelecidas pelo país. Após anos de debates e mobilizações, chegou-se ao consenso de que a infância e a adolescência devem ser resguardadas por toda a sociedade das diferentes formas de violência.
Para garantir a preservação desses direitos, foi elaborado o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA), Lei Federal nº 8.069. Em vigor desde 1990, o ECA é considerado um marco histórico na proteção da infância e tem como base a doutrina de proteção integral, reforçando a ideia de “prioridade absoluta” da Constituição.
No ECA estão determinadas questões, como os direitos fundamentais das crianças e dos adolescentes; as sanções, quando há o cometimento de ato infracional; quais órgãos devem prestar assistência; e a tipificação de crimes contra criança.
